History

             On February 11th, 1968, Sengudi was established as a standalone parish with Fr. K.V. Paul serving as its inaugural parish priest. Prior to its establishment, it was part of Irudayapuram parish. However, between 1971 and 1977, it was temporarily reattached to Irudayapuram due to conflicts between the people of Sengudi and the parish priest. Interestingly, many priests and religious from this parish are actively engaged in serving communities in the northern regions of our country.
