Christian Life Commission (CLC)

Rev. Fr. D. Jeevan Chrisanth

Secretary

The Christian Life Commission (CLC) serves as the spiritual and formative pillar of the Vianney Pastoral Centre in the Diocese of Sivagangai. It is dedicated to nurturing the faith life, sacramental participation, and spiritual growth of the faithful through holistic Christian formation.

As an umbrella commission, the CLC integrates three essential dimensions of ecclesial life:

  • Bible Commission
  • Catechism Commission
  • Liturgy Commission

Together, these commissions work in harmony to deepen the Christian identity of the faithful and strengthen the mission of the Church.

Bible Commission

The Bible Commission promotes a deeper encounter with the Word of God, encouraging the faithful to make Sacred Scripture the foundation of their daily life and spiritual journey.

Its mission includes:

  • Bible study and reflection programmes
  • Scripture-based prayer gatherings
  • Formation in Gospel values
  • Promoting personal and family Bible reading

The Commission helps believers grow as disciples rooted in the living Word of God.

Catechism Commission

The Catechism Commission focuses on systematic faith formation for children, youth, and adults.

It strives to:

  • Teach Catholic doctrine and moral values
  • Prepare candidates for the Sacraments
  • Form catechists and faith animators
  • Strengthen Christian family life

Through ongoing catechetical formation, the Commission builds a strong foundation of faith and Christian living.

Liturgy Commission

The Liturgy Commission ensures that the worship life of the Church remains prayerful, participatory, meaningful, and reverent.

Its responsibilities include:

  • Liturgical formation and animation
  • Training altar servers, readers, and choir members
