History
Andichioorani, steeped in tradition, traces its origins to a Christian community that migrated from the Tanjore region and settled in the Sivagangai kingdoms during the 18th century. Initially under Goanese jurisdiction from around 1800, this center remained so until 1883 when it was entrusted to the New Mission Jesuits. Initially affiliated with Pallithammam and later with Soosaiapparpattanam, it wasn't until May 11, 1975, that it gained independence as a separate parish, boasting a magnificent Church dedicated to Our Lady of Refuge. Subsequently, a new presbytery was erected, solidifying its presence and services within the community.
