  History

             The Norbertine Fathers from Trichy were called upon by the Bishop to serve in this region of the diocese. Initially, due to the absence of a presbytery, the fathers resided in a rented house in Thondi for ten months. In 1993, marking the hundredth year of Karankadu Parish, Thiruvettriyur was separated from it and established as an independent parish. Notably, it is among the very few parishes where all the residents belong to the scheduled caste community. The parish boasts a beautiful church designed in a distinctly Indian style, adding to its charm and significance.
