History

             About 150 years ago, newly converted Christians from Kattikulam and other areas settled in this village to preserve their Christian identity. Initially, a small chapel was established, followed by a larger one, and eventually, the impressive church we see today was constructed in 1969. Initially part of Rajakembiram, then Idaikattur, the parish was formally established on a permanent basis on 21st September 1941.

While the parish thrived in past years, it currently faces challenges due to insufficient water for farming and limited local job opportunities.
