History

             Nagarikathan was erected as a parish on May 22, 1988, with Fr. V. Xavier serving as its inaugural parish priest. It was formed by merging villages from Andavoorani and Kurumilangudi. Currently, numerous parishioners are relocating to cities such as Madras, yet they maintain ties with the parish through associations named after the village. A new parish Church is under construction at a newly acquired site near the presbytery, alongside several development projects underway within the parish.
