History

             This parish was erected on 2^nd August 1958 by the untiring efforts of Fr. Leveil. However, Parts of this parish were evangelized by St. John de Britto. It includes 42 sub-stations drawn from Andavoorani, Puliyal, and Devakottai parishes. These are remote hamlets with limited road access. Fr. R. Ponniah served as its inaugural parish priest, contributing significantly to its development. The community faces economic challenges, leading to exploitation by others. Since 1978, efforts have been made to establish movements and frameworks aimed at safeguarding human dignity and democratic rights, as well as raising awareness and liberating them from systematic oppression.
