History

             Muppaiyur parish was erected by incorporating villages from the parishes of C.K. Mangalam, Sarugani, and Puliyal. It is under the care of the Order of Servants of Mary. Although it has been operating independently since January 22, 1995, formal recognition by the Bishop is still pending. Due to the unavailability of a priests' residence, they are currently residing in a rented house at C.K. Mangalam. A temporary church has been constructed at the center, with plans for a permanent structure in the near future. This temporary church was inaugurated on July 7, 1996, dedicated to Arul Matha.
