History

              In 1969, Thiruvarangam parish established this parish with Fr. G. Lourduraj serving as its inaugural parish priest. Economically, about 25% of the population here falls into the middle-class category, while the majority are considered poor. There's a growing political awareness among the residents in contemporary times. Culturally, they adhere to traditional customs, although their lifestyle is gradually evolving. Religiously, they maintain strong piety and dedication to the Catholic faith, albeit in a traditional manner.
