History

             Senjai - Karaikudi Parish was bifurcated, and Sekkalai - Karaikudi became a new parish established on 10th February 1992, with Fr. A. Michael serving as the first Parish Priest. This marked the fulfillment of Fr. P.C. Chacko's vision, who wisely acquired the land, persistently pursued permission for four years to construct a Church dedicated to Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, and built it in anticipation of a future new parish. This dream turned into reality after fifteen years.

In this parish, numerous prayer groups, including youth groups, actively participate in spreading the Gospel and conduct Sunday Bible classes regularly.
